You might be interested to know that a 1st Claim member of the Club who lives in the USA is doing extremely well running Indoors over there. Thomas Staines is the son of Gary Staines and Linda Keough/Staines. They have lived in the USA for many years and Thomas is at University over there. Thomas has been running well for a couple of years and made a big improvement at 800 and 400 last Summer.
This has continued this Winter and running in Albuquerque on the 1 February, Thomas competed in a rarely run 600 m race. Putting in a mightly impressive performance as Athletics Weekly called it, he ran a UK 600 m best of 1.15.31 to move to third on the European all-time list and eigth in the World all-time.
