BAL – Match 2

SUCCESS FOR SENIOR MEN’S TEAM

BMHAC Senior Men bounced back from last season’s relegation from the BAL National League Div 2 to go top of Div 3 with an emphatic win at Bedford last Sunday.

Leading from the start of the meeting when Matthew Lavoipierre ran a SB 52.72 for the 400m Hurdles to go 14th on the Po10 they continued that way throughout the afternoon. Kieran Showler Davis then ran 10.66 for 2nd in the 100m. The 110m Hurdles was a particular good points earner with Ryan Bonifas 2nd in the A string with 15.38 while Dave Awd won the B with 16.47. Dan Short had a good battle in the B 800m to finish 3rd in 2,00.77 while Rob Wood got 3rd in the B 1500m recording 4.13.88. At the end of the afternoon there was a flawless display of baton changing with the 4X100m team winning in 42.17.

On the Field, Caius Joseph had a good set of performances, a 6.71 Long Jump for 2nd was followed by 4.00 Pole Vault for 3rd and a 1.75 High Jump recording a B string win. The A High Jump having been won by Ryan Bonifas with 1.95. The Discus was another good event for the Club with Rafer Joseph 2nd, throwing 42.86 and John Dickinson 2nd in the B string throwing 35.00. Team Manager, Ben Hazell completed his afternoon with 2nd place in the Javelin throwing a very respectable 52.46.
after placing 3rd in the B string 3000m Steeplechase.

The whole squad contributed to the success with every slot filled. The final result was 1 BMHAC 361pts, 2 Tonbridge 333, 3 Trafford 297.5, 4 Bedford & County 259.5, 5 City of Portsmouth 249, 6 Rugby & Northampton 223, 7 Nene Valley 208, 8 Yeovil Olympiads 203.
