Basingstoke & Mid Hants AC will supply a big contingent of athletes in the Hampshire Schools team taking part in the English Schools Championships at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham next Friday and Saturday 7/8 July.
Isabel Pinder (Costello School) is selected in the Junior Girls (U15) High Jump while Jordan Ford (Testbourne School) is in the Junior Boys (U15) Long Jump and Will Jones the Junior Boys Discus. There are 3 Inter Girls (U17) selected with Catherine Edwards (Costello) in the 300 m, Rebecca Bullock (Calthorpe Park) the 800 m and Rebecca Poole (Bishop Challoner) the 1500 m Steeplechase. Ben Pattison (Robert Mays) goes in the Inter Boys (U17) 400 m and James Beeks (Queen Mary’s College) is competing in the Senior Boys (U20) 2000 m Steeplechase. There are 2 Senior Girls (U20) selected with Mair Edwards (Queen Mary’s College) in the 200 m and Millie Cook (Queen Mary’s College) the Shot Putt. There is one other athlete from BMHAC selected that is Isobel Mannion who is in the Berkshire Schools Team and competes in the Inter Girls 1500 m.
A number of these athletes will be in contention for medals and all are good form and the Club wishes them well at this prestigious event.
