CORONAVIRUS UPDATE
Statement from the League Committee:
Further to previous communications, it is with regret that the Wessex League committee have taken the decision to cancel all matches in the 2020 season.
This decision has been made following the increased period of lockdown within the UK as well in recognition that many of our league officials are considered at-risk individuals.
It is hoped and encouraged that clubs can use this early notice to organise and participate in open meetings towards the tail end of the season rather than try to arrange their schedules around a truncated league competition.
What happens with the Wessex League in 2020?
- The 2020 season will be considered cancelled
- It is proposed that the fixture list for 2020 including host clubs and competition dates be maintained in 2021 (adjusting for the calendar so matches will still happen on a Sunday).
