BMHAC RUNNERS START THE SEASON WELL
Basingstoke's junior athletes got the Cross Country season off to good start when they competed in the first Hampshire Cross Country League of the season at a very wet Kings Park at Bournemouth.
In the first race of the afternoon Macy Connolly was always with the leaders in the Under 13 Girls 3K. Over an undulating course Macy battled away to come home 3rd in a field of 61 runners. She was backed by two debutees, Lily-Mae Lancaster-Evans and Imogen Edwards, both these 1st year U13s performed very well to finish together in 18th and 19th position to help place the team 3rd.
After this good start, Ben White then scored a great 2nd place in the U15 Boys race, Ben again was always near to the front of the race, however over the last 1K he finished fast to grab 2nd place his best ever effort. With Leon Ruffle 12th and Sam Kemp 17th the Club again placed 3rd with 55 runs competing. There was 2 top10 placings in the U17 Men's race, this time Reece Sharman-Newell held on to 5th spot while Josh Kemp finished fast for 7th and with Oli Morgan in 11th place the team placed 2nd.
The U13 Boys also finished 2nd team, led by Nicholas Thomas in 7th, he was followed by Charlie Coveney 10th and George Sharp 24th in field of 76, 12 of which were from Basingstoke.
The U15 Girls also raced hard with Sienna Richardson leading the Clubs runners home in 12th position, Isabelle Law was 4 places back in 16th and Megan Hope completed the scoring in 41st spot and the team finished 5th.

Basingstoke Half Marathon & 10k
The club was extremely well represented at Sunday's Half Marathon and 10k with almost 50 club members tackling the 13.1 miles with another 15 or so taking on the 10k. This was the first running of the 10k race.
The club also produced many podium positions with Alex Hamilton taking 3rd overall in the Half (and also 1st V40), with Dave Ragan and Oli Morgan providing a 1-2 in the 10k, and Mitch Lloyd winning the Ladies 10k.
In the Half marathon, Tony Watkins was first V50, Dave Hope first V70 with Jenny Froud second V60 and Tim Fowler third V60.
Well done to all the club's representatives.
