Hampshire Cross Country Championships

Athletes from BMHAC put in some superb performances at the Hampshire Cross Country Championships held at Fairthorne Manor near Southampton. This new venue proved to be extremely testing with the course seriously muddy, however this proved to be to the liking of Basingstoke’s athletes who in total won 5 Individual and 2 sets of Team medals. The star performance came from Maddie Deadman who in the Under 17 Women’s race over 5K scored a great win, racing home overMaddieover the last 400 m to take the gold medal in 19 mins 36 secs. In the Under 15 Girls race there was Individual and Team success, Rebecca Bullock wining the Silver with a strong performance throughout and recording 15.19. Then with her team mates Izzy Mannion 10th, Rebecca Poole 12th and Megan French 28th the Team won the bronze medals

 

RebbecaThere was the same ratio of success in the Under 13 Boys race over 3200 m  as Cameron Coveney won the bronze with another fine display recording 11.59, while along with team mates Will Parkinson 12th, Oli Morgan 22nd and Alex Lakeland 28th there total score gave them 2nd and the Team silver Medals. James Beeks was the Clubs best placed athlete in the Under 17 Men’s race wining the bronze in a good class field with a time of 20.44 over 6200 m. The final Individual award went to Alex Hamilton in the Senior Men’s race over 11800 m winning the over 40 award when finishing 15th of the 168 finishers in a time of 44.51.
